Guided Imagery / Meditation CDs
What they are and how they work
Knowing how your mind works is the first step. The conscious part of your mind is about 12% of what your mind operates on while the subconscious, 88%. When you say that you want to lose weight or quit smoking for an example, you are making that choice from the conscious part of your mind. The subconscious which is the stronger has only two movements. It goes towards pleasure and away from pain. To give up what has been a pleasurable experience to you means struggle, deprivation. That's why diets usually do not work.
By relaxing the mind you are able to go directly into the subconscious, a natural state that you are in ten minutes out of every ninety minutes. You are still very much aware and at all times in control. Also, the subconscious mind does not know the difference between reality and fantasy. So by quiet suggestion with relaxing music and guided images, you are able to re-program the mind for positive change.
